However, some of the industry stakeholders have apprehensions that a recent bribery scam may create adverse impression about the state and its government machinery.
Industry Minister Gajendra Singh said that the government has already signed MoUs with many companies during road shows in Delhi, Mumbai and other cities.
"We received overwhelming response for investment in Rajasthan, particularly in the sectors of mining, petroleum besides textiles, medical, tourism, solar energy and other sectors. We expect commitment of investment worth over 2 lakh crore which can be materialised on the ground in coming years," the Minister told PTI.
"Our focus is not only just commitment and MoUs, but to start work on them. I expect that the investment committed during the summit would start delivering results in a year or two," he said.
On the recent bribery scam in which Principal Secretary Mines department Ashok Singhvi was arrested by anticorruption bureau, the minister said that the case would have no impact as such.
Prem Biyani, former secretary of Federation of Rajasthan Trade and Industry, said that there was a need to improve system in the government departments.
Another businessman said that delay in work or procedure creates adverse impact therefore the government should improve the business environment and curb corruption.
The summit will take place on November 19-20 in Sitapura industrial area here.
The event is likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hundreds of investors from India and aborad are expected to attend the summit for which the state government has conducted several road shows within and outside the country.
