Railway carries 6 pc more freight

Railways carried 357.57 million tonnes (MT) of freight traffic during April-July 2014 as against 343 MT in the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 6.25 per cent.
During the month of July 2014, the freight carried by the national transporter was 89.89 MT, as compared to 86.21 MT during the same period last year, showing an increase of 4.27 per cent, according to Railway Ministry data.
