Light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers in some parts of Uttar Pradesh today gave a respite from the sweltering heat.
The day temperatures fell in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Bareilly, Moradabad and Meerut divisions, but changed little in the remaining divisions of the state, the MeT said.
Ghazipur, Jhansi, Moth, Nighasan and Shahjahanpur received light to moderate rains, it said.
The highest temperature was recorded in Banda at 43.2 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature was recorded at 17.4 degrees Celsius in Kheri.
The weatherman has forecast dry weather in the state.
