Torrential rains for last few days have evoked mixed reactions among the public in the union territory.
While businessmen who expected to do good marketing in the forthcoming Diwali curse the outbreak of monsoon for hitting their business, farmers are all praise for the rain.
There was good rise in water level in minor tanks which led to raising the sub soil water table.
Water level in the Abishegapakkam village tank rose to 3.66 metres against around 2.0 metres before the rain set in. Similarly the water tank in Korkadu registered a rise in its level from 1.5 metres to 2.5 metres post rains, PWD sources told PTI today.
Nine out of 24 tanks in Bahoor commune panchayat have water to their full capacity.
