Chandigarh was drenched by 14.4 mm of rains, Dadri by 5 mm, Jhajjar 5 mm, Beri 4 mm, Barwala 10 mm, Kalka 15 mm, Morni 25 mm, Pathankot 15 mm, Raipur Rani 10 mm, Amritsar 21.2 mm, Fatehgarh Sahib 7 mm, Gurdsapur 35.2 mm, Dibri 45 mm, Mukerian 48.2 mm, Hoshiarpur 22 mm, Dasuya 9 mm, Ropar 14 mm, Patti 37.2 mm, Jalandhar 17 mm, Phillaur 13 mm, Kapurthala 45 mm, Ludhiana 19.7 mm, Samrala 17 mm, Tarn Taran 30 mm and Anandpur Sahib 19.5 mm.
Amritsar's low settled at 9.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, Chandigarh 13.5 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal, Ludhiana 13.8 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal, Narnaul 14.5 degrees Celsius, six notches above normal, Karnal 15.4 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal, Ambala and Hisar 17.8 degrees Celsius each, nine and eight notches above normal respectively, and Patiala 16.4 degrees Celsius, seven notches above normal.
Though no reports of any loss to crops due to hailstorm was reported, downpour and the accompanying strong wind partly flattened parts of standing wheat crop at some places, officials said.
Rain occurred due to western disturbances over Punjab and Haryana, the MeT office said, adding that these disturbances would continue today at isolated places in Punjab.
