According to the Met department, Rae Bareli and Raniganj recorded maximum eight cms of rainfall each while Kaimganj and Maharajganj received six cms of rain each.
It said that rain or thundershower was likely at many places in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, according to reports from Barabanki, army was carrying out relief and rescue operations following breach in Elgin-Charsari embankment constructed on the Ghaghara river.
According to Central Water Commission, Ghaghra was still flowing above the danger mark at Elginbridge (Barabanki) and Ayodhya. It was flowing near danger mark at Turtipar in Ballia district. The Sharda river was also flowing above the red line at Paliakalan and close to it at Shardanagar.
