The maximum temperature was recorded at 38.2 degrees Celsius while the minimum settled two notches below the season's average at 25.6 degrees Celsius, a MeT department official said.
Safdarjung Observatory, considered the official reading for the city, received 10.6 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours.
Humidity in air oscillated between 80 and 51 per cent.
The MeT office has predicted overcast conditions along with the possibility of one or two spells of very light rain or thundershowers in some parts of the city.
"Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle at 39 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively," the official added.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 28.5 degrees Celsius.
