Rains lash parts of Uttar Pradesh

Places which received rains include Shardanagar, Handia, Jaunpur, Lucknow, Mirzapur, Ghosi, Robertganj, Ayodhya, Churk, Akbarpur, Varanasi, Dhauraha, Nighasan, Elginbridge, Gorakhpur and Shahjahanpu, the MET office here said.

It further forecast rain or thundershowers at a few places over eastern UP and at one or two places in western UP in the next 24 hours.

Heavy rain would occur at isolated places over eastern UP during the next 48 hours, the Met office warned.
