Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot today slammed the state government for misusing machinery to hold a public meeting here, saying the BJP organised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally for its political gains.
The prime minister today participated at the public meeting attended by a large number of beneficiaries of the welfare schemes run by the Centre and the state government.
Accusing the BJP of misusing government machinery and funds, Pilot said the total amount spent of the PM's rally would cost nearly Rs 1,500 crore.
It was unfortunate that the prime minister did not hold himself from targeting the Congress at an event meant for addressing beneficiaries of government schemes, Pilot said.
He said that the BJP organised the rally for its political gains in theelection year.
It is responsibility of every government to start welfare schemes. But, it is for the first time I have seen that a ruling party is organising a rally by bringing beneficiaries of welfare schemes to one place for its political gains, he said.
Pilot countered the prime minister's claims about various welfare schemes, saying that the figures were far from truth.
He said that the PM's claim of issuing 90 lakh soil health cards to farmers is far from reality as there are only 68 lakh registered farmers in the state.
The state government has disappointed people in the last four years. They will not get any political benefit from the rally, he said.
