A policeman allegedly committed suicide in Rajasthan's Dausa district on Sunday, a senior officer said.

Head constable Hari Singh (45), posted at Sikandara Police Station in the district, shot himself with his service revolver, additional Superintendent of Police Anil Singh said.

Hari Singh took the extreme step inside the police station premises, the officer said, adding that no suicide note was recovered from the spot.

The body was handed over to family members after a post-mortem examination, he said.
