Rajasthan remained under the grip of blistering heat today, where Sriganganagar was the hottest place with a maximum temperature of 47.4 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in the town was 5 degrees above normal, the Met department said.
The mercury came down marginally in a few parts of the desert state, but there was no respite from the heat, which kept normal life out of gear.
Churu, Kota, Bikaner and Jaipur recorded maximums of 46.4 degrees Celsius, 45.6 degrees Celsius, 45.5 degrees Celsius and 44.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
The department predicted that the prevailing heat wave conditions would continue in the state for the next 48 hours.
