Rajasthan govt revises minimum wages for labourers

The Rajasthan government has revised the minimum wages for labourers with effect from January 1, 2014.
Unskilled labourers will get a minimum wage of Rs 189 instead of Rs 166 while minimum wage for semi-skilled labourers has been raised from Rs 176 to Rs 199.
Similarly, the minimum wage for skilled labourers has been raised from Rs 186 to Rs 209 and from Rs 236 to Rs 259 for highly skilled labourers.
Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje approved the revised wages after a review on the basis of Consumer Price Index issued by the Labour Bureau in Shimla, an official release said.
