Striking lawyers today began their 'Mahapadav' in Rajasthan High Court premises here to press for their demands, including transfer of Jaipur's district judge and action against alleged corruption in judiciary.
Advocates of the Bar Council of Rajasthan and High Court Bar Association began the dharna amid heavy security arrangements in the court premises.
"We have 14 demands and we will call off the strike and the Mahapadav only after the demands are fulfilled by the High Court administration," Sanjay Vyas, General Secretary of the Jaipur Bar Association, said.
The lawyers have been on strike for more than 50 days affecting legal work in the courts.
"Today is 56th day of the strike and it will continue peacefully till the demands are met," Vyas said.
Advocates from various districts like Jalore, Udaipur, Kota have come to take part in the Mahapadav.
