'Raje mislead people on Metro, oil refinery in Budget speech'

Former Rajasthan chief minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot today accused Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje of "misleading" people over the Jaipur metro and Barmer oil refinery projects initiated by his government.
In a statement issued here today, Gehlot alleged that Raje spoke beyond the facts in her Budget speech in the House.
While presenting the state Budget for 2014-15 on July 14, Raje had raised doubts about the financial viability of the the Metro project started by the previous Congress government.
On this, Gehlot in the statement, asked her to clarify when she planned to start the second phase of the Metro project from Sitapura to Ambabari.

About the oil refinery project, Gehlot rejected Raje's argument that the state do not get any benefit from it as it does not have the ownership despite offering land, money and resources.
Gehlot said royalty and VAT are two things which a state can have as its right and the ownership belongs to the Central government only.
"Raje's misleading statements are a surprise. Either officers are misleading her or she is misleading people of the state knowingly," he said.
