The one-minute-six-seconds teaser went viral across the globe in merely minutes, and was trending in all countries.
In the teaser, 65-year-old Rajinikanth is seen asking in his peculiar style, "Do you think that I'm someone who plays a sidekick to villain MN Nambiar (late legendary villain in Tamil films)? Don't mess with me, I'm Kabali da."
The film, directed by P Ranjith, also stars Radhika Apte, Kishore, Kalaiyarasan, Dhansika, and Dinesh Ravi.
It is set to hit theatres on May 27.
