Ramesh takes over as CBIC chairman

Senior IRS official S Ramesh has taken over as chairman of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), an official release said.

He was elevated as CBIC chairman on superannuation of Vanaja N Sarna. Prior to his elevation, he was member (administration) in the Board, it said.

Ramesh began his career in Mumbai as assistant commissioner, Central Excise and thereafter in Mumbai Customs.
