Revenue, Urban Development and Local Bodies Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely held a meeting with the municipal commissioners following complaints of lack of cleanliness in areas like old Delhi, Jafrabad, Seelampur and Okhla.
"Special focus on cleanliness should be give to the areas surrounding mosques and dargahs, and where people observing fast during the month of Ramzan are residing," Lavoly said.
The Minister asked the officials to ensure that hygiene is maintained in areas where majority of the population belongs to the Muslims community. Lovely added these areas were getting uninterrupted power and water supply.
