"A case of rape and intimidation against Joshi has been lodged at the Kotwali police station here on the basis of the documents procured from Delhi police which had registered an FIR against the official on Friday," IG (law and order) R S Meena told PTI.
The documents, on the basis of which a case has been registered against the official here, include a statement given by the victim to the magistrate under section 164 of the CrPc and the zero FIR lodged in this connection at Delhi's Padav Nagar police station, Meena said.
Additional SP (headquarters) Mamata Bora has been made the investigating officer in the case, the IG said.
Asked whether the official will be arrested, Meena said the police would first collect sufficient evidence against him.
Joshi, who has been accused by the 29-year-old victim of raping her after promising her a job, has also filed an FIR against the woman and two others, alleging that they blackmailed and threatened him.
