The victim's husband said that he found his wife hanging from the ceiling in his house after he returned from his agriculture field, Station House Officer D K Vashistha said.
The complainant alleged that Sunil, 32, and his brother Jitendra, 30, residents of the same village, have murdered his wife, he said.
Sunil had raped the victim in 2013 and a case is pending in a court against him, the SHO said, adding, he recently came out on bail and was pressurising the victim's family for a compromise in the matter.
Both the accused are absconding, he added.
The body has been sent for postmortem and the matter was being investigated, police said.
