Rape victim shot dead by unknowned men in Mathura

Unidentified assailants early today shot dead a rape victim and severely injured her mother while they were on their way to court here.
According to police, the victim died on the spot while her mother sustained severe bullet injuries.
The victim had an year ago accused a former head of an Ashram in Vrindavan and his disciples of raping her.
She was supposed to testify against them in a local court when she and her mother came under attack.
The father of the victim was the driver to the former head of the Ashram against whom the allegation of rape had been made.
