Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore today met Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to discuss various issues related to the Delhi-Jaipur Highway.
Officials said that Rathore, who represents Jaipur (Rural) seat in Lok Sabha, had made a survey of the areas lying along the highway and shared with Gadkari the issues pertaining to the improvement of the highway.
He also discussed with Gadkari the highway's impact on the lives of people living in the towns through which it passes.
In a detailed presentation to Gadkari, Rathore touched upon issues like the need for proper service lanes at Kotputli, issues related to the flyover at Shahpura or concerns about drainage systems at Manoharpur, an official said.
Financial aspects related to the improvement of the highway were also discussed after which it was decided that a meeting with banks would be convened on Tuesday to find a solution in this regard.
When contacted, Rathore said he had met the Gadkari to discuss issues related to the highway and thanked the transport minister for being very responsive.
Officials of the National Highways Authority of India and the contractor were also present at the meeting today, the officials said.
The highway is important for business, tourism and cargo and is the lifeline of the Jaipur (Rural) Lok Sabha constituency as it caters to six of its Assembly segments -- Kotputli, Bansur, Viratnagar, Shahpura, Amer and Jamva Ramgarh, officials said.
