"States have been directed to display on FPS notice board showing share of subsidy by government of India and state concerned on PDS foodgrains," he said in another tweet.
Paswan said the economic cost of wheat procurement is Rs 24.09 per kg, while it supplies grains at Rs 2 per kg under the National Food Security Act. The Centre bears a subsidy of Rs 22.09 per kg.
The National Food Security Act (NFSA), which has been rolled out across the country, provides legal entitlement of 5 kg of foodgrains per person per month at Rs 1-3 per kg. The Centre provides Rs 1.4 lakh crore annually to implement the food law.
