The committee, through a public notice, has invited written memoranda on the Bill from the stakeholders concerned, within 10 days.
A 21-member select committee of the Rajya Sabha, chaired by BJP member Anil Madhav Dave, was set up after the Opposition refused to accept the Bill that seeks to regulate realty business. The Bill seeks to establish a Real Estate Regulatory Authority to ensure more transparency in the realty sector.
The other members of the select committee include Mansukh L Mandaviya, Shamsher Singh Manhas (all BJP), Shantaram Naik, MV Rajeev Gowda, Kumari Selja (all Congress), Naresh Agrawal (SP), KC Tyagi (JDU), Mohammad Nadimul Haque (TMC), AW Rabi Bernard (AIADMK), Munquad Ali (BSP), Ritabrata Banerjee (CPM) and nine others.
