Recreating the magic of Dahl's stories on his birthday

The magic of Roald Dahl stories will be recreated on his 99th birth anniversary tomorrow with a series of events including featuring the famous creation of one of the world's most loved children's authors - the clever, brave, book-loving, child genius Matilda.
Publishers Puffin India will celebrate the occasion by organising several activities around the Roald Dahl brand. It has partnered with some of prominent retailers for fun weekend activities like storytelling, word search, and quiz contest all through September. These activities will be organised at 20 different locations all across the country every weekend of September.
Puffin has also partnered with some the most prominent schools across Delhi-NCR for a series of fun storytelling sessions centred around Matilda. Master storyteller Ankit Chaddha will be conducting these sessions filled with fun activities, readings, and trivia around Dahl and Matilda.

Matilda is the story of an extraordinary, book-loving little girl who manages to turn the tables on her TV-obsessed parents and strict headmistress Miss Trunchbull. Since its publication, Matilda has been a favourite among children for over 25 years and has delighted audiences.
On the social media, Puffin will be running a contest all through the day and winners will get special Puffin & Roald Dahl hampers.

Dahl, regarded as one of the most successful and well known of all children's writers, was born in 1916 in Wales of Norwegian parents. Educated in England, Dahl started work for the Shell Oil Company in Africa. He began writing after a "monumental bash on the head," sustained as an RAF pilot during World War II. He died in 1990 at the age of 74.
