Kadapa Superintendent of Police Naveen Gulati said that two special anti-red sanders smuggling squads arrested three red sanders smugglers from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
The police arrested one Nafeez Hussain (40), a resident of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh on September 19, while on September 20, Badrul Hassan (54) alias Hassan Bhai, residing in Delhi was arrested, after which eight tonnes of red sanders logs worth Rs 16 crore was seized from a godown located in Maharashtra state, the police official said.
The special police team, which has obtained transit warrants from local courts to get all three accused to Kadapa, is expected to reach here tonight, along with the arrested red sanders smugglers, the police official said.
