The 40-year-old star is making the song for the soundtrack of upcoming animated film "Sing", reported Billboard.
The 2-minute rendition sets off with Witherspoon's vocal as she sings, "I stay out too late, got nothing in my brain/ That's what people say, that's what people say", while Kroll continues singing, "I go on too many dates, but I can't make them stay/ At least that's what people say, that's what people say."
"People will already know a lot of songs in the film. And with that you always run the risk of failing when covers are compared to the originals. However, we've done some unique things here so that people hopefully will walk away thinking of these as new songs," "Sing" soundtrack producer Harvey Mason, Jr said.
The film is set for December 21 release in the US theatres.
