Meanwhile, groundnutoil, castorseeds bold, castoroil and linseed oil all ruled steady in the absence of any major buying activity.
In the futures market, castorseeds September remained lower on continued speculative selling amidst subdued export enquiries.
In the edible segment, Refined palmolein eased by Rs 4 per 10kg to Rs 571 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 575. Groundnut oil closed unchanged at Rs 830 per 10kg.
Turning to futures, castorseeds September contract resumed steady at Rs 3,640 and surged to Rs 3,665 before drifting to finish at Rs 3,624 from Rs 3,640 previously, showing a modest loss of Rs 16 per tonne, while castorseeds for December contract opened at Rs 3,891 and gained further to Rs 3,901 before settling at Rs 3,886 per tonne.
