Refined palmolein prices edge down on lower offtake

Refined palmolein prices edged down in an otherwise lacklustre oils and oilseeds market here today due to lower offtake from retailers on the back of bearish Malaysian cues.
Meanwhile, groundnut oil, castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseed oil prices ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying.
In the futures market, castorseeds declined further owing to speculative selling amid lower export enquiries.
In the edible section, refined palmolein softened by a rupee per 10 kg to Rs 510 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 507. Groundnut oil closed unchanged at Rs 1,220 per 10 kg.
Turning to futures, castorseeds June contract resumed lower at Rs 3,880 and drifted to Rs 3,850 before settling at Rs 3,852 from 3,894 previously, showing a loss of Rs 42 per tonne.

Moving to non-edible section, Castorseeds bold, castor oil commercial and linseeds oil prices all closed unaltered at Rs 3,600 per 100 kg, Rs 750 per 10 kg and Rs 790 per 10 kg, respectively.
