Similarly, Hindu minorities facing "religious persecution" in Pakistan should also be registered as Persons of Indian Origin, Hindu Singh Sodha, founder-convener of "Visthapit Sangh aur Seemant Lok Sangathan" told reporters here.
He sought legislative changes for the same, alleging that the Union government through various amendments had given Indian citizenship to migrant Hindus of other countries, but always neglected "around five lakh persecuted Pakistan and Bangladesh's Hindus living in Rajasthan" alone.
Sodha said these people were living in the state for many years, but the Union Government did not accord them citizenship which was "deplorable".
