The Parkash Utsav, the first installation of Guru Granth Sahib, was celebrated with religious fervour at the Golden Temple here today.
A Nagar Kirtan (religious procession) passed through the holy city to mark the 409th Utsav.
The religious procession started from Akal Takht, the supreme temporal seat of the Sikhs, and went through marbled periphery of the Golden Temple and several city's streets.
It returned to the Akal Takht in the evening.
Sikh devotees chanted religious hymns and showered rose petals on the Golden Palanquin carrying the holy Guru Granth Sahib, SGPC officials said.
