The brothers are in the custody of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Gujarat police.
Upon their production in the court after the completion of their 12-day remand, Judicial Magistrate S M Govni extended it further till March 20 after the ATS prayed for it.
Though the ATS had sought their remand for another 14 days for conducting a thorough investigation, the court extended their custody by only 10 days.
Waseem and Naeem were arrested by the Gujarat police's ATS on February 26 for allegedly hatching a conspiracy to spread terror in the state under instructions from their ISIS handler.
The FIR filed against them says they were under surveillance of security agencies for over a year for their suspected activities and communication with the alleged ISIS handler.
The FIR claimed the two brothers were about to carry out lone wolf attacks in Gujarat, after which they had planned to escape to Syria.
Police claimed Waseem had persuaded Naeem to join him in launching terror attacks.
