Remove publicity materials from official websites: EC to UP

Election Commission has directed Uttar Pradesh government to remove all publicity materials of the government and party leaders from official websites till the Lok Sabha elections are over.
"It has come to the notice of EC that Model Code of Conduct was not followed in letter and spirit. It has been directed to the state government to remove all publicity material from it websites," Chief Electoral Officer Umesh Sinha told reporters.
He said the state government has been directed to prevent misuse of official machinery, if any.
