Renault sales surge over two-fold to 8,031 units in January

Company said Renault Kwid will continue to play a pivotal role in Renault's expansion plans in India

Automaker Renault has reported over two-fold jump in sales at 8,031 units in January as against 3,203 units sold in the same month last year.

"Renault Kwid will continue to play a pivotal role in Renault's expansion plans in India with customer orders crossing the 90,000 mark," the company said in a statement.

The company has ramped up the production capacity at its Chennai plant to meet the growing demand of the product, it added.
