Meanwhile, counting of votes for the panchayat polls in Goalpara district has been postponed from tomorrow till February 15 and the exercise would be completed in a day, official sources said. The All Rabha Students' Union has blamed the Assam government for the situation. "For last 17 years since the RHAC was formed we have been demanding polls to the council. So many rounds of discussion have taken place, but there was no result," ARSU president Tankeswar Rabha said. Accusing the government of taking a casual attitude, he alleged "the use of brute force to suppress a democratic agitation has brought out the real face of the government."
