ARRESTS Srinagar: Police have arrested three persons who had allegedly threatened the Sarpanch and Panches of Dooru area in south Kashmir's Anantnag district, posing as militants. "Three persons posing as militants and involved in threatening panchayat members have been arrested from Dooru area. Incriminating documents like posters and letter pads have been recovered from them," a police spokesman said today. The arrested persons have been identified as Abdul Rashid Rahi, Shahid Ahmad Khan and Mohammad Yousuf Khan, all residents of the Reyan Chowgund villag in Dooru, he said. While investigating into the case, it came to light that the trio were involved in pasting of threatening posters, wherein demands for resignation of Sarpanchs and Panchs of Dooru area were made, the spokesman said. "Ten blank posters having seal of District Commander HUJI printed on them and some fake seals of HUJI were recovered from their possession," he added.
