Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today slammed the ban imposed by the Centre on sale of cattle for slaughter, saying government has no right to impose restrictions on food habits of people.
He described the Centre's decision to impose the ban as "autocratic and a clear case of infringement on the rights of people relating to food habits".
The NDA government at the Centre was "imposing" its decisions on people, he told reporters here.
The Centre has no right to impose any restrictions on food habits and the notification banning the sale of cattle for slaughter should be scrapped, he said.
