Hundreds of rescuers continue to make an all-out effort to reach the 15 workers trapped in the debris of a collapsed railway tunnel in southwest China's Yunnan Province.
More than 400 rescuers were sent by the authorities to save the trapped workers in the yesterday's train accident, state-run news agency Xinhua reported.
A part of the under construction tunnel Funing No 1 collapsed yesterday in Funing County.
The collapsed section was about four kilometres from the entrance of the tunnel.
The cause of the collapse was not immediately known and there was no surety about the survival, officials said.
The tunnel was on a 710-km railway, linking Kunming with Nanning, capital of the neighbouring Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Construction of the railway began in 2009 and it was expected to open for traffic in 2016.
