Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu today said resurgence of country will start from the holy land of Kurukshetra with the organisation of International Gita Mahotsav.
The Union Minister was addressing the valedictory function of International Gita Seminar and Sant Sammelan organised during the international Gita Mahotsav here.
While congratulating the Haryana government for organising Gita Jayanti at international level during its Swarna Jayanti year, Prabhu said that earlier our country was called the golden land and now there is need to introspect why this has changed.
"We had forgotten to walk on the path given away by Sri Krishna through the holy message of Bhadwad Gita. We will try to move on the same path which the Lord Krishna had shown to the humanity," he said and expressed confidence that the resurgence of the country will start from the holy land of Kurukshetra.
With this, he said, we will again restore our old culture by following the path of Bhadwad Gita in this Swarna Jayanti year.
Speaking on this occasion, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that state government would design a plan to promote the organisation of Gita Mahotsav every year.
This year, as many as 11.50 lakh people had visited in the Mahotsav so far.
He said that both the Central and state government were promoting religious places like Mathura, Kurukshetra and Dwarka.
The Central government had sanctioned a sum of about Rs 100 crore for Krishna Circuit under which places of religious importance would be developed in the state, he said.
He said that global chanting of Srimad Bhagvad Gita would also be held tomorrow in 25 countries at the same time from 6 pm to 6:15 pm so as to spread eternal message of Gita in the world.
The Chief Minister also read out the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he congratulated the people and expressed hope that International Gita Mahotsav would prove to be helpful in spreading the celestial message of Gita which is an integral part of Indian culture, in the entire world.
Speaking on the occasion, Haryana Governor Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki said that the message which the world needs in the 21st century is being given in the International Gita Mahotsav.
Haryana government has taken the initiative to show a new way to the entire world with the organisation of Gita Mahotsav, he said.
