Dr Kailash Singh, retired Deputy Chief Medical Officer, used to live alone and late last night he shot himself from his licenced gun, Superintendent of Police BD Shukla said.
His body was recovered this morning.
Efforts are on to ascertain the cause of suicide, he said.
