A revenue inspector, his parents and sister have been arrested here following a dowry harassment complaint lodged by his wife, police said today.
In her complaint, the woman, a doctor, said she got married five years ago and her family had given gold ornaments weighing 300 sovereigns besides other goods. In spite of this, her husband and in-laws used to torture and harass her for dowry, she alleged.
Police has registered a case under various IPC sections, including 498 (enticing or taking away or detaining with criminal intent a married woman), besides Sexual Harassment Act-2012.
