Revised plan submitted for HC circuit bench in north Bengal

West Bengal Law Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya today said a revised plan has been submitted to open a circuit bench of Calcutta High Court in north Bengal.
Answering a question in the assembly, Bhattacharya said the matter is now lying with the court authorities.
The government is committed to opening a circuit bench in Jalpaiguri so that the people of north Bengal do not have to travel all the way to Kolkata, she said adding the government hoped that the chief justice of Calcutta High Court will take up the matter soon.
