Rhino poacher held with ammunition in Assam

A notorious rhino poacher was apprehended and five rounds of ammunition recovered from his possession in Jorhat city in upper Assam during a joint operation by Kaziranga National Park Special Task Force and Police, police said here today.
KNP Task Force received specific information about the poacher's movement towards Jorhat and launched a search operation with the police. He was picked up from a city hotel today, the sources said.
The poacher, identified as Jadav Saikia Kutum from Udainagar in Golaghat district, was wanted in connection with several rhino poaching cases in Kaziranga for over a year, they added.
