Rice basmati, bajra rise on stockists buying

Prices of rice basmati and bajra edged higher at the wholesale grains market today on increased buying by stockists against restricted supplies from producing belts.
However, other grains moved in a tight range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said increased buying by stockists in the face of restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to rise in rice basmati and bajra prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety moved up to Rs 5,200-5,500 and Rs 4,200-5,300 from previous levels of Rs 5,000-5,200 and Rs 4,000-5,200 per quintal respectively.
Bajra also rose by Rs 25 to Rs 1,215-1,220 per quintal.
