However, bajra and jowar moved up on increased offtake by consuming industries.
Traders said sluggish demand against sufficient stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts mainly kept pressure on rice basmati prices.
They said, however, pick up in demand from consuming industries attributed rise in bajra and jowar prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 slipped to Rs 5,200-5,300 and Rs 4,000-4,900 against last close of Rs 5,300-5,400 and Rs 4,250-5,100 per quintal respectively.
