Rice basmati edges up on uptick in demand

In restricted activity, rice basmati prices moved up by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on mild demand from retailers.
However, other grains after moving in a narrow range on little doing pegged around previous levels.
Traders said some demand from retailers mainly led to rise in rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety edged up to Rs 5,600-5,700 and Rs 4,500-5,500 from previous levels of Rs 5,500-5,600 and Rs 4,500-5,400 per quintal, respectively.

Wheat MP (desi) Rs 2,590-3,125, Wheat dara (for mills) Rs 2,150-2,155, Chakki atta (delivery) Rs 2,110-2,115, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) Rs 280, Shakti Bhog (10 kg) Rs 280, Roller flour mill Rs 1,180-1,190 (50 kg), Maida Rs 1,280-1,290 (50 kg)and Sooji Rs 1,350-1,360 (50 kg).
Basmati rice (Lal Quila) Rs 10,700, Shri Lal Mahal Rs 11,300, Super Basmati Rice Rs 9,700, Basmati common new Rs 5,600-5,700, Rice Pusa (1121) Rs 4,500-5,500, Permal raw Rs 2,050-2,075, Permal wand Rs 2,150-2,200, Sela Rs 2,800-2,900 and Rice IR-8 Rs 1,850-1,860, Bajra Rs 1,440-1,445, Jowar yellow Rs 1,800-1,850, white Rs 3,450-3,650, Maize Rs 1,540-1,550, Barley Rs 1,720-1,725.
