Rice basmati, wheat strengthens on increased buying

Prices of rice basmati rose up to Rs 300 per quintal and wheat prices up by Rs 15 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on increased buying by stockists and flour mills.
Traders said increased buying by stockists and export enquiries mainly influenced rice basmati prices.
Increased offtake by flour mills helped wheat prices to trade higher, they said.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety strengthened to Rs 9,500-10,200 and Rs 8,300-10,200 against last close of Rs 9,300-10,000 and Rs 8,000-10,000 per quintal respectively.
Wheat dara (for mills) also moved up by Rs 15 to Rs 1,590-1,595 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,595-1,600 per 90 kg.

Atta flour mills, maida and sooji were also shot up to Rs 840-860, Rs 9156-925 and Rs 1,020-1,050 as compared to previous levels of Rs 810-820, Rs 910-920 and Rs 990-1,010 per 50 kg respectively.
