At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in December rose by Rs 92, or 1.32 per cent to Rs 7,070 per quintal with an open interest of 7,695 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in November moved up by Rs 68, or 0.95 per cent to Rs 7,252 per quintal in 9,535 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to pick-up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up the turmeric prices at futures trade.
