Risod assembly seat repoll witnesses 53.68 per cent voting

As many as 874 voters out of 1,628 voters exercised their franchise during the repoll at Janata Mahavidyalaya polling centre in the Risod assembly seat of the Akola Lok Sabha constituency here today, official sources said.
Sources said that 464 men and 410 women voted during today's repoll which was necessitated after misplacement of a register kept for voters to sign before voting.
Risod is the only polling centre in the entire Vidarbha region where a repoll was ordered by the Election Commission.
Six candidates including sitting BJP MP Sanjay Dhotre, Prakash Ambedkar and Congress nominee Hidayat Patel are in the fray.
