Technology-enabled logistics firm Rivigo is on its way to increasing its team of professionals by nearly 50 per cent to 3,200 in the next six-eight months, a top company official said.
In order to become a tech intelligent logistic company, Rivigo is focused on hiring algorithm trading professionals as well as artificial intelligence (AI) talent as it believes automation and machine learning will increase efficiency, lower cost and bring reliability.
"We are setting up a whole AI team here, and we are taking in Vibhanshu Abhishek, Professor of Data and AI at US based Carnegie Mellon University.
"We are building a team of 3,200 people. We have already started hiring. We are also building our sales and distribution team," Rivigo Co-Founder Gazal Kalra told PTI.
The company has already inducted over 40 algorithm background engineers to maintain its edge over the others as the best technology platform and is planning to hire more aggressively in this regard.
Rivigo, founded in 2015, has a fleet of 3000 commercial vehicles and is set to increase the number this year.
The company had a team of 200 professionals in 2016 and this number has increased by 11 times to 2,200.
We are the fastest growing logistics company. We also launched an online logistics truck brokerage platform for transportation of goods last year and have emerged as the fastest growing entity in the segment," she said.
The company claims to have the lowest rate of attrition among the technology players and has taken on board Chief Revenue Officer Dhruv Bhagat, who was Chief Sales Officer at Tata Sky, as part of talent acquisition and strengthening of senior leadership team.
Other hires include Anal Jha, head of manufacturing of ITC Foods, with 27 years of experience in organisations like Pepsi and NEI ltd, and Pradeep Krishnamurthy, Manufacturing Director for South Asia for Reckitt Benckiser with 22 years experience.
