Rlys sees over 4 pc jump in freight handling

The railways handled 906.36 million tonnes (MT) of freight traffic during April of last year and January this year, an increase of 40.22 MT, or 4.64 per cent, over the period between April, 2013, and January, 2014.
During January this year, railways carried 97.79 MT of freight, an increase of 1.39 MT, or 1.44 per cent, over the freight of 96.40 MT carried during the same period last year.
